Page Layout & brand alignment
The California affiliate of the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI CA) and the California Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) partnered on NAMI COPE, a law enforcement-specific support group to expand officer wellness and reduce mental health stigma.
A 32-page toolkit was developed to provide resources and guidance from mental health experts to center officer wellness as a key pillar of day-to-day activities.
I was tasked with designing the multi-page publication for print and web applications delivered in pdf format. The project scope included the design of an engaging cover and internal spreads.
Typography & visuals
Following the NAMI CA brand guidelines, I developed a grid system and a typographic hierarchy for the toolkit layout. Pull quotes, icons and color blocks were used to create visual interest and emphasize important content.
A versatile layout that would work as spreads in the physical booklet and in single-page view as a digital resource for their website was a critical component.
In addition to the toolkit copy, the client also provided a set of figures and graphics compiled from various sources. I recreated them in vector format to align with the NAMI brand identity and the look and feel of the toolkit while ensuring they met publication requirements.
